DHS’s Musical Theatre program provides students with several curricular opportunities, including Beginning/Intermediate Musical Theatre class, which focuses on developing singing, dancing, and acting skills, and Advanced Musical Theatre. The Advanced Musical Theatre class presents a musical each fall, which we submit for the Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards, known as ‘The Shuler Awards.’ Our Advanced Technical Theatre class and select students from the DHS Band program support all musical theatre productions. All classes participate in a Spring Musical Theatre Revue.

The musical theatre program also presents an extracurricular musical each spring, which draws over 100 students. All DHS students can participate in the cast and crew, regardless of whether or not they are in the classes.
