Raven Owen-Beyer attended her first Broadway musical, The Phantom of the Opera, at the age of nine. She started crying during the second act and continued throughout the whole car ride home. She has been a devoted musical theater fan ever since. Originally from Vermont, Raven graduated with a BFA in Acting and Directing from Marymount Manhattan College. After spending years doing the “starving artist” thing in New York City, Raven was hired to teach theater and direct productions for The Hill School in Middleburg, VA. During her eight years at Hill, she produced six shows annually and really honed her time management skills. Upon relocating to Atlanta, Raven spent three years teaching and directing at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School before moving to Atlanta Public Schools in 2018. When she isn’t working on a theatrical production (which is rare) Raven enjoys cosplay, reading YA fiction, being outdoors, eating cheese, and spending time with her husband and young son. She still goes to see every musical she can and sometimes will cry on the way home.
