Kate McNeil is a graduate from the University of Alabama, where she studied Communications and Theatre. In college, is where Ms. McNeil found her passion for theatre. She hit the ground running and immediately began auditioning for plays on campus and off campus. Her first show was “All My Sons” by Arthur Miller, which holds a special place in her heart. After she graduated, Ms. McNeil joined a Shakespeare troupe where she put on many productions of classic Shakepeare plays. She also joined an improv troupe and participated in monthly live performances.

If Ms. McNeil wasn’t on stage acting for local theatres, she was working backstage as either Props Master, Set Desginer, Stage Manager, Costumer or Run Crew. When Ms. McNeil moved to Atlanta, she was looking for a change in career. Her passion for Theatre was unwavering and she wanted to share that passion with others. So she began her search for a Drama teaching position. She found her place at Decatur High School and loves working with her astoundingly talented Acting and Tech Theatre students. Ms. McNeil teaches Acting, Advanced Acting Esemble, Technical Theatre, Advanced Technical Theatre and directs all of the Acting productions at Decatur High School.
