Heston McCranie teaches orchestra at Beacon Hill Middle School and Decatur High School.. Heston holds a Ph.D. in Music Education from Georgia State University, a Master of Music in cello performance from the University of Florida, and Bachelor of Music in cello performance from Colorado State University. Heston is published in the Journal of Research in Music Education and American String Teacher and has also enjoyed presenting music education research at national and international conferences. In addition to all things music, Heston’s favorite moments are spent with her daughter, Maisie,  husband, Luke, and cocker spaniel, Dublin.
