Mr. Crosby is in his first year at Beacon Hill teaching the orchestra program. He spent the past twenty years in Cobb County, Georgia, where he taught at Hillgrove High School and Durham Middle School and in Trion, Georgia, where he taught at Trion City Schools.
With a passion for music education spanning over 25 years, Mr. Crosby is an experienced and dedicated music educator, holding undergraduate degrees in both Orchestral Performance and Music Education, as well as a Master’s degree in Music Education. He has studied with Dr. David Morris, Dr. Nicholas V. Holland III, and Mr. Paul Campiglia.
Mr. Crosby has been a clinician and music arranger for nearly thirty years, having written for steel orchestra, string orchestra, marching band, and drum corps. His ensembles have performed at a variety of regional music festivals and steelband festivals, Georgia Music Educators Convention, Music for All competitions and performances, as well as at the Drum Corps International Southeastern Regional and the Drum Corps Associates World Championships.
In 2016, Mr. Crosby had the honor of performing in China, followed by an appearance at Carnegie Hall in 2018 where he conducted the Hillgrove Mastery Orchestra with colleague Dr. David Doke. In 2019, Mr. Crosby participated in the 75th D-Day celebrations in France, commemorating this significant historical event through music performances. He has also shared the stage with renowned steel pan artists including Andy Narell, Liam Teague, Ray Holman, and Tom Miller.
Adding to his diverse experience, Mr. Crosby lived in Trinidad and Tobago from 2001 to 2002, where he performed with the Starlift Steel Orchestra during the Panorama and Carnival seasons. This unique international experience has enriched Mr. Crosby’s teaching methodology, providing students with a more global perspective on music.
