Although my actual job at DHS is teaching Social Studies, I have been the set designer for our theater program for the last ten years. When I first started, it was just me and would have to beg for parent volunteers to help out on Saturdays. Since we started the Tech Theater program a few years ago it has grown so much. Now I get to work with some really amazing and talented students to design and build the sets, which have only gotten better every year thanks to their hard work and dedication. Last year my daughter asked me what my favorite place in the school was. I didn’t have to think very long to tell her that the theater is the place I love the most at DHS. It is my happy place. I love teaching students how to build some really cool things and when I sit in the audience to watch our productions and look at our set, I feel so proud of what they did. They are the true stars of the show!
